Case study: OMCR S.r.l.

"If I think of a company and more specifically of a workshop, I idealize a place where many people bring together their ideas and their work to achieve a common goal in the fastest, most effective and competitive way possible while maintaining high quality standards.

The information useful to achieve it must therefore be shared by all the players who contributed to that process, in order to be able to replicate and improve it" says Dr. Zentilin, OMCR S.r.l. General Manager of San Maurizio Canavese (Turin - Italy).

In the industrial revolution we are experiencing, the term "INTEGRATION" is fundamental, which means the union between everything that constitutes a physical machine and human/artificial intelligence, reachable only with great commitment, team spirit and adequate IT support.

“In my company, the tool lists corresponding to the processing to be performed on the machines were compiled on electronic sheets, which are difficult to quickly and easily update and share. Comparing tool lists to optimize times was expensive. The result was that production proceeded with a tool list that was not always in line with the machining program, with delays in starting production, compromising production efficiency and incurring avoidable procurement costs. Testing a processing cycle on the machine without the certainty of having no collisions meant that we faced longer than standard repair costs and downtime. "

Dr. Zentilin goes on to say: “Starting from this cue, I started researching and approaching management software that could help my company. I then began to explore the landscape of IT tools that with a single interface would have had to integrate different functionalities, sources and data locations.

TP32 contained in itself everything we were looking for and even that little bit more.

We were able to interconnect all the parties involved in a production process with a single easy, intuitive and effective tool, the Integrated Tool Management System TP32.

The level of customization that the product offers and the advice that was offered to us have allowed to improve tool management making it more streamlined and linear without upsetting the process, allowing us to have:

  • Programming of tool purchases according to stocks and commitments;
  • Complete traceability of the tools used in the processing;
  • Optimization of the tool lists preparation;
  • TP32 modeling of the tools used by CAM program, imported directly through a dedicated and integrated connector;
  • Direct acquisition of the tool offsets from the presetter machine and their direct transmission in the machine offsets table, via TID

    (automatic tool identification system and CNC machine interface)

    , thus eliminating any eventuality of human error and / or collision;

  • Consumption, commitment, movements, stocks and tool availability data real-time reports.

Whenever a new opportunity for improvement has arisen dictated by new business needs, TP32 and his team were able to support us in our choices by recommending the best solutions that best suited our reality and our modus operandi."

The goal of TP32 is to solve and analyze problems in the context in which they arise. The real strength is the collaboration with our clients who in turn become partners: this positive flexibility in the approach to business issues makes the relationship between user and supplier open and non-restricting.

Each company is different, the real strength is being able to understand the production needs in order to customize as much as possible the solutions to be proposed to achieve the expected results.
